About QuantFP

Most financial-planning tools tell you what you already suspect. The calculations that actually change a decision — the ones that show a plan is worse than it looks — are usually only run for people wealthy enough to have someone run them.

Purpose

To provide an easy-to-use financial-planning tool to the broad public that offers uncommon calculations — the ones that produce valuable and rarely offered insight. Much of financial-planning analysis is made available only to high-net-worth clients. QuantFP is built to hand those same tools to everyone else.

What makes it different

Access to calculators typically reserved for high-net-worth investors, and a willingness to show an unflattering answer. Our Roth conversion calculator, for instance, does not offer the “pay the tax from outside cash” option that most conversion calculators default to — because modeling it honestly requires charging for the compounded growth those tax dollars give up, and a tool that skips that step makes conversions look better than they are.

Where a calculation is rough, we say so and show the assumptions. Every figure is editable.

Where we are

Online first, so the tools and calculators work properly, with native apps to follow.

Available today: a library of plain answers to common retirement and IRA questions, a fifteen-question mini plan that shows how long your money lasts and what fees are costing you, an IRA-to-Roth conversion calculator, a reverse-DCF calculator for the growth assumptions implied by a stock price, and an AI assistant for retirement and IRA questions.
